By Miles Olu & Joseph Chukwudebe

The executive chairman of Center For Anti-Corruption And Open Leadership (CACOL) Comrade Debo Adeniran at a press conference at the humanity Centre, Ojokoro, Ijaiye Lagos that Nigerians should be exceedingly careful and thoughtful of those leaders that should be voted for come 2019 general elections. At a press conference that he titled Anti-climax of a crescendo, Narratives of 2019 general elections and as he further used an Igbo adage “A man stung Wasp, fears the buzz of a housefly
“Speaking at the press conference Comrade Adeniran said that the press conference coincides with the international woman day celebration globally as CACOL Lagos the entire globe, and again comrade Adeniran said that they identified with the  struggles and pages of women in this contemporary globe dominated by patiently and capitalism CACOL believes that Nigeria are fed up with forlorn promises and hopes dangled by politician that democratic rule would bring  the nation to El dorado as Nigeria did fight valiantly  to overthrow the jackbooted military dictatorship demanding the restoration of democracy  government as the human rights and pro-democratic crusades were littered with lots of broken bones, heads and lost souls, CACOL says the spirits of the down trodden , masses did remain high till the return of democracy rule in May 29th, 1999, but very sadly the entire federation has watch haplessly and helplessly as succeeding democratic leadership rule has not really favored the citizens. Speaking at the humanity center, comrade Adeniran said that the alarming records coming out to the public domain from all nooks and crannies show a nation that is seriously flowing with a heavy awful hemorrhaging because of the brazen looting of its treasury by her greedy leadership.
Speaking at the humanity center the executive chairman, CACOL, Comrade Adeniran outlines the indices of the nation’s Problems such as Annual Corruption Perception Index where the Nation corruption perception became exceedingly bad between 2016 and 2017 as released by Annual Corruption Perception Index (COI)by Transparency International (TI) over country shifted from 12 position in the country rankings from 136 in 2016 to 148 in 2017, as the rankings, are from 1 to 180 with 180 indicating the country having the highest perception of corruption and again comrade Adeniran said that since may 29th 2015 President Mohammadu Buhari started calling the shots at Aso rock villa, Abuja that our nation ranking in the International press freedom index has witnessed a very low declined as the country is currently surveyed in 2017. The Nations fell from 111 in 2015 to 116 in 2016 and has dropped 112 in 2017. T
he press conference dwelled on many indices for instance: Rule of law index, RMB’s Africa Investment Attractiveness Index, Global Retail development index and others are world economic forum Networked readiness index, Nigeria’s ranking dropped to 127th in 2016 CCI analysis, Ernst and Young Africa attractiveness  index world internal security and police index and lastly worst electricity supply. Addressing the press conference comrade Adeniran said that there has to be a wakeup call as the noted that these rankings were not sincere, statistical presentation of the continuous slide of the country regardless the fact that leaders have been these truths only by denials. Comrade Adeniran reminded Nigerians that minister of Agriculture Audu Ogbeh recently claimed that Nigeria growth in rice production has led to decline in the export of rice in a certain Asian nation which the country immediately debunked just as the triple minister of Housing, power and works Babatunde Raji Fashola has claimed of improved electricity generation is really heavy lies comrade Adeniran considered the global rankings as a clarion call for government and citizenry to tighten up their girdle if actually they are serious about taking social developments in the country would also validate these facts.

Addressing the press conference comrade Adeniran mentioned the infamous activities of the Fulani herdsmen carnages and terrorism which has grappled the north east of the federation with the orgies of violent attacks and bloodletting herdsmen carnages and farmers clashes in many states of the federation while the federal government of All Progressives Congress (APC) seems either incapable or does not have the political will to tackle the hassles as many villages have been unlovable and wickedly sacked in Benue, Taraba , Nasarawa and plateau state with many innocent persons displaced from their homes, farmlands and workplaces. The press conference touched on many national burning issues such as the outrageous price of development in Lagos state. CACOL believes that a mega city cannot exist without the down trodden masses and for this golden reason CACOL has joined all men and women of goodwill to call on the government of LAGOS STATE FOR THE reversal of the increment in land use bill and the introduction of the Tenement rate.

In rounding off the uncommon press conference at the Humanity centre, Comrade Adeniran quintessentially concurred that routine election as a democratic practice does not necessarily translate to collective control of the socio Economic Existence of the people as the constitution provides for government to ensure the socio-economic rights of the people. Addressing the press conference Comrade Adeniran conceived that as the 2018 – 2019 elections draw nearer  and with the excruciating conditions of living of the majority, the citizenry must rise in unison to struggle for the assertion of their socio-economic rights as dialectically needed components of a democracy under the best practices comrade Adeniran agrees that the chapter two of the Nigerian constitution should be the guide in the choices we make in the elections by ensuring that the governments at all levels commit itself to the security and social welfare of the citizenry before earning their votes.
